Die Finca Don Sigifredo
The Finca Don Sigifredo has a total area of 110 hectares. The plots consist of approx. 6 hectares of existing pasture area, approx. 5 hectares of former pasture area, approx. 2 hectares of old cocoa and banana plantations,
approx. 50 hectares of secondary forest and approx. 30 hectares of primary forest as well as 4 hectares with houses and road
In the project, part of the existing but no longer managed cocoa plantations will be put back into operation. This with the active involvement and training of the local population in ecologically sustainable agriculture. The clear goal is to continue to protect the rainforest through the sustainable use of the forest and plantations.
Students and volunteers from all over the world should be given a place where they can research ecology and environmental protection and write their work in order to advance themselves and the Finca Don Sigifredo project. The prerequisite, however, is that your work is either biologically sustainable, ecologically sensible, based on permaculture or based on biodynamic principles. The minimum stay is 4 weeks.

The traineeship
In this project you will learn how to grow sustainable agriculture. You will learn how to plant trees correctly in the rainforest with rangers and you will also receive important and interesting information about green lungs. In close family cooperation you can do great things for our nature.
Students and volunteers from all over the world should be given a place where they can research ecology and environmental protection and write about their work and experiences in order to advance themselves and the Finca Don Sigifredo project. Foreign language skills should be available (more on this in the requirements profile). The minimum stay is 4 weeks. The monthly fee is 180 US dollars.

Free time and fun
It is important to us that the volunteers also get to know the environment and the culture. That is why we plan a “volunteer day” at least once a month. On this day, the focus is on fun and cultural exchange with the locals. Besides this day there is fun and adventure for everyone. Explore the rainforest with a ranger or travel down the river through the unique flora and fauna
